Roosevelt Public School-Care Team Information
Understanding Our Threat Assessment Responsibilities
In alignment with state law (N.J.S.A. 18A:17-41.4), all New Jersey public schools are required to establish Threat Assessment Teams. At Roosevelt Public School, this team is known as the Care Team, a multidisciplinary group focused on the safety, well-being, and support of all students.
The Care Team’s role is to help identify, assess, and respond to behaviors of concern that may pose a risk to the safety of individuals or the school community. The team works to:
- Evaluate potential threats or patterns of concerning behavior.
- Provide supportive, early intervention strategies;
- Promote a safe, inclusive school environment;
- Prevent targeted acts of violence before they occur.
The Care Team includes trained staff members from a variety of backgrounds and operates in accordance with both state guidelines and Roosevelt’s internal procedures. To learn more about our policy and approach, please review Roosevelt Policy 2419.
Reporting a Concern
If you are aware of, witness, or receive information about a threat or behavior that may pose a risk to the safety of our school community, please report it immediately.
- During school hours, concerns should be reported directly via email or phone to the Principal, Ms. Lindsay Perine, or the Superintendent, Dr. Barry.
- Outside of school hours or in cases of emergency, please contact local law enforcement.
Reports can be made anonymously, but we encourage you to include as many details as possible to allow for a timely and thorough response.
Together, we are committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all students and staff.
